A Happy Ending1933-02-20Old Nancy is 113 years old today. The 100-year-old feud between two Kentucky families has a happy ending. Oh, yeah? The "Witch's Tale" broadcast of September 28, 1934 (see cat. #110850) has a very similar story title, but "Old Nancy" spins an entirely different yarn.
Graveyard Mansion1933-03-069:30 P.M. Old Nancy is 103 years old today. Two brothers inherit a suspicious old house in Louisiana and meet a beautiful woman who's been dead for one hundred years! Are there vampires within the mansion? A ghost perhaps? This story program was "produced by "Air Features Syndicate" but was advertised and distributed by "All-Star Broadcasts" (which was owned by Billy Jones and Ernie Hare). Alonzo Deen Cole is listed for each program as a performer. He played many roles, but was always, "Saten, The Wize Black Cat."
The Confession1933-03-279:30 P.M. A Catholic priest is summoned to administer the last rites to a young Chinese wife about to be killed by a particularly gruesome Chinese torture. The script was previously used on "The Witch's Tale" on December 7, 1931 and subsequently on February 17, 1936. This program was also syndicated by "Group Broadcasters."
Dangerous Curve1933-04-17Old Nancy is 110 years old. The story was rebroadcast on "The Witch's Tale" on April 18, 1935. Two brothers are in love with the same gold-digger. Murder and revenge follows. The story is good of its type.

The "Dutchman" meets a minister and his beautiful daughter...and plans to kill her! The script was used on "The Witch's Tale" on February 1, 1932 and April 26, 1934. This Australian production of a script used on "The Witch's Tale" was heard in the U.S. on September 7, 1934. The program may have been syndicated by Artransa.
Happy Ending1934-09-28Old Nancy is 111-years-old today. She tells part two of a story about a young married couple who have a chat with a dead man. This is an unusually gory and violence-filled story. Hopefully, no children were listening. If used in a half-hour format, this recording contained only the final 15:17 minutes. If used in a twice-a-week (15-minutes per show) format, this recording is complete. The "Witch's Tale" broadcast of February 20, 1933 (see cat. #99996) has a very similar title, but "Old Nancy" spins an entirely different yarn.

At the start of the first program, Old Nancy claims to be 110 years old; a few minutes later she mentions that she's 118 years old. At the start of the second program, she claims to be 112 (women are known to be sensitive about their ages, but this is a bit much). This program was "produced by Air Features Syndicate" and distributed by "All-Star Broadcasts." This production (which may be Australian) uses a script originally heard on "The Witch's Tale" on September 26, 1932 (as "The Hairy Monster"), on December 31, 1934 (as "The Monster") on June 20, 1935 (as "Mrs. Hawker's Will") and April 5, 1938 (as "The Monster"). Based on a comparison of Nancy's "ages" on the recording compared to the actual scripts used in 1932, 1935 and 1938, the script and recording appear to be from 1934, but only "Old Nancy" knows for sure.
