He strangled Judy White and was guilty of releasing the snake that almost bit Nevada. He's correctly diagnosed as a "addict" by Jack. Huey is shot through the heart just before revealing who's behind all of this. Pop Mitchell promptly has a heart attack and dies. A gun is found on his body, proving that A.B. Mitchell killed Huey. Mr. Purdy forces Jerry Booker into the house at gunpoint. Mr. Purdy turns out to be an out-of-work actor who was paid to play the role. After all this, THEN the plot gets complicated. The last episode of the story the last episode of the season.

When the program returned to the air on October 3, 1949, on the Mutual network, the character of "Reggie" was brought back, portrayed by Tony Randall. The plot matches the description of the program of March 29, 1943 more than it does match the plot of March 30, 1943.
