| Speaking of Murder | | 1945-12-14 | This murder mystery, coming from WNEW in New York City, is unique in several ways. WNEW was not noted for live drama of any kind, yet this is a well-written story. In addition, a re-cap of important clues are dramatized for listeners who are then given a minute to try to figure out whodunnit. There's no shame in failing to name the killer, as the plot is convoluted. One mistake was noticeable. At the start of the story, we discover the old mansion is lit by candles because, "the fuse blew out." Yet, as the killer is named, someone yells, "Turn On The Lights!" and lo, there is light. It's an excellent show from an unexpected source. |
